I recently purchased a few sets of the Pick of the Ricks custom Curt Mangan 10-46 12-string set. I'd previously tried their 10-42 12-string set and liked it but wasn't wowed, plus I broke two of the strings in that set while installing which was a pain.
I am much happier with this 10-46 set. It feels almost exactly the same as the current Rickenbacker 12-string set (part number 95404) but is somewhat lower in cost. I think the gauges are even the same, and it has the wound 3rd string which seems to be essential on Rick 12-strings. The strings are nicely made, sturdy, and installed without any issues (thankfully!) on my 360/12c63. My c63 tailpiece is good at popping strings out of their ball ends, and I'm pleased this didn't happen with this set!
They sound great too - bright and clean but not as overwhelmingly bright as the D'Addario 12-string set. Tuning has been stable and intonation has been good though I do apply the trick of tuning down the low E and B strings slightly flat.
I strongly recommend these strings for folks looking for a great value roundwound 12-string set for their Ric.
