I have always loved the look of Rickenbackers, I think 330's and 360's are some of the coolest looking guitars ever, I have owned them in the past, but never really connected with any of them. I recently purchased another 330 and came across the HB-1, that's what I was missing! The noiseless crunchy tone I missed from my other Semi-hollowbody guitars! Gone is the 60 Cycle Hum, and I now love my Rick into my Marshall, the HB-1 is a secret weapon in my book.. It made me finally gel with a Rick! I'm now planning on getting a 360 and another one of these for the bridge. Do yourself a favor and don't try to fight it if you are having terrible noise issues, get the HB-1 and be done with it.
And Pick of the Ricks, great customer service!

Pleasure dealing with the website...pickup came surprisingly fast, already perfectly tinned and ready to install...brought my friends 650 sierra back to life. I just might have to buy myself one of these guitars and put my gibsons on the shelf.

I have these pickups in a custom strat type guitar with a solid rosewood neck .My pickups measure over 14K, they sound very full and stereo like, sort of a much richer and better sounding dearmond. I used to think they were a one trick pony-fat and sort of dark, but then I wired them to push/pull pots and series/parallel because they have 4 strand wire. With the knob pulled up now, the pickups measure 3.4 or so, just like my old gretsch 6120. Now instead of vol./tone, I just have 2 volumes, and if I want it darker, I back off on the volume(knob down) and the extra capacitance from the 14K winding takes the edge off. If I want a fender sound I can pull up either or both and get all the humbucking yet single coil sound that I need! This wiring turned a seldom used guitar into one that is one of my main guitars and stands right up to the 50's vintage ones. There, I just gave away one of my best kept secrets! Great sounding pickups!
