4 stars using 3 stars as average.
The strings are nickel, sized to factory spec, good quality, and are a good price for a set of bass strings. I'm curious to try the coated ones (reduced fret noise), but they were not in stock when I ordered.
Thanks for packaging this set, POTR and CM!

I started using the Curt Mangan strings on the recommendation of Pick Of The Ricks. They are perfect on my 4003 and I don't use anything else. I prefer Nickel. The response is great and they're even up and down the neck as well as across the strings.

I ordered them on Christmas day and got them in 9 days which is brilliant for a package ordered from the US to the UK, right in the middle of the xmas period with New Year and everything around it. Package arrived in perfect condition with personal invoice/receipt thing. All in all, great service, great product, thank you!!!

Recommended by Pick of the Ricks, these are the only strings I use on my 4003. Really even and balanced. Great punch and just the right amount of zing with pick or fingers.

I love these strings on my '94 Rickenbacker 4003. This bass has been my #1 since I ordered it brand new in July, 1994, and I have used all kinds of strings on it over the years - different brands (Rickenbacker, Rotosound, Ernie Ball, GHS, Elixir, etc), and different materials (nickel, stainless, coated). My previous favorite was the Rickenbacker branded strings, 45-55-75-105. I think the bass sounds best with those specific string guages, and I was happy to find the Mangans that match that guage. The Curt Mangan strings are the best I have used. They have a 'zing' and a liveliness that sounds great, but more importantly, the sound lasts. The first set of Mangans I tried lasted 4 months and sounded awesome. I use the treble pickup soloed and play in a rock/pop band, and these strings give me the best growly, aggressive tone I've heard out of the bass, with a strong fundamental tone too. I just put the second set on, and I love the sound of the new ones, but the old ones were 95% there sonically by comparison. Most other strings I've played on the bass die a lot faster, and none of them have sounded as good initially. I like these strings better than any others (Rickenbacker brand being #2, but they don't seem to last as long for me). I'm 100% happy and have ordered more.
